For the first time since the pandemic, the International Conference on Malignant Lymphomas (ICML) opened its doors to participants at the Palazzo dei Congressi, from June 13 to 17, 2023.

In-Person and Virtual: The Dual Success of the ICML Congress

The conference, which experienced a first-time blend of in-person and virtual attendance, surpassed expectations in terms of success, with around 4,000 attendees present on site, in addition to over 1,000 participants connected via streaming. A testament to the event's significance is the impressive number of hotel rooms booked through official channels, exceeding 2,600, which provided a substantial boost to the local economy.

This year's program tackled the state of the art in the biology, pathology, and management of lymphoid neoplasms. With over 800 abstracts submitted, 303 posters, and 190 presentations spread across 68 sessions, amounting to a total of 115 hours of lectures and presentations, the event served as an indispensable reference point for industry experts.

The temporary structure set up in Parco Ciani, spanning an area of 4,000 square meters, housed numerous booths of international companies in the field, along with a large hall set up to accommodate several hundred participants. The resurgence of in-person attendance at the Lugano conference, following the virtual edition in 2021, marked a significant step towards normalcy. The organizers look to the future with optimism, ready to welcome the international community of the industry for another successful edition of ICML.
