Lugano Conventions has been tackling the issue of the sustainability of its facilities for some time now, both in terms of the hosted events and the internal organisation.
For example, thanks to the supplies of AIL SA, we use renewable energy sources, such as electricity from local hydroelectric power stations (tìacqua), or Biogas for heating. Another initiative worth mentioning is the possibility for our guests to freely use local natural water through the dispensers installed free of charge by Bluwater in our premises.
To summarise, joining the SWISSTAINABLE programme primarily means having the opportunity to become aware of what is already being done, but also to be accompanied on a comprehensive sustainability journey together with many other Swiss tourism and conference operators.
In the upcoming future, we would like to strengthen our commitment to sustainability as well as communicate this to our customers and suppliers, with the ambition of becoming one of the most sustainable destinations in Switzerland.
