CIRP is the world leading organization in production engineering research and is at the forefront of design, optimization, control and management of processes, machines and systems.
The 67th edition of the CIRP General Assembly, organized by SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southem Switzerland) was held at the Lugano Convention Center from 20th to 26th August 2017.
For the first time ever, the International Academy for Manufacturing Production Research (CIRP), founded in 1951 in Paris, held its General Assembly in the canton Ticino.
Among the innovations born within the CIRP, we can mention the processes that led to 3D printing, whose creators participated in this congress edition, in Lugano.
For Ticino, this is an opportunity both from a tourism and conference point of view, but it is also an opportunity for local companies to build new relationships and create new opportunities for their future.

The event was attended by 700 researchers and professors from companies and research institutes from 50 countries around the world. The discussion topics, of great scientific relevance, ranged from production systems, to robotics and artificial intelligence.
